ABOUT OLIVER
Born in Essex in the UK, Oliver left British shores with his family in 1974 to live in Brisbane, Australia.
His parents realised he was very musical at a young age and encouraged him to follow his heart.
He picked up guitar at 11 and by 16 was playing in his first rock band.
His vocal ability was also growing stronger year by year and by 21, Oliver was fronting his own band. Writing songs and recording them in his own production company by 23, Oliver was then signed worldwide by EMI music publishing and has had his works released by Sony, EMI and Roadshow artists.
His constant hard work has taken him to the USA on numerous occasions to work with international producers and songwriters.
He has worked, written or shared the stage with:
U2, Savage Garden, John Farnham, The Ginblossoms, Chrissie Amphlett, Daryl Braithwaite, Newton Faulkner, Colin Hay, Rose Tattoo, Tom Lord Alge, Taxiride, New Radicals, Clif Magnus, Mark Goldenberg, Mike Tramp (White Lion), Steven Haigler.
He helped produce and engineer Savage Garden demos and mixed “Santa Monica” on the self titled debut album selling over 11 million units. Oliver also mixed numerous B-sides.
OLIVER moved to Melbourne in 2001 and has had some amazing opportunities.
Playing at the World Cup in Munich, Germany, Bledisloe Cup in Hong Kong and Auckland as well as the UK and USA, As well as Australia: Barossa Valley in SA, Hamilton Island, Gold Coast, Great Keppel Island, Corporate events in Sydney, Grand Prix Melbourne, Melbourne Cup day, Grand Final day, Australian Open Tennis. Australian corporate jobs such as: Bunnings, Dunlop, Anz, Danks, Mitre 10, Crown Casino, and up to 100 weddings per year! The list goes on and on…
Past events have been: Hamish and Andy’s Thankyou Tour at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, MELBOURNE performing with Daryl Braithwaite and sharing the stage with U2, John Farnham and Newton Faulkner.
Recent Recordings: Co-wrote and produced Daryl Braithwaite’s album FOREVER THE TOURIST that debut at number 8 in the Australian ARIA charts. He landed his song BEAUTIFUL FEELING on Daryl's greatest hits album 'DAYS GO BY' that peaked at number 3 on the Australian charts.
CANADA - Co-wrote "A Fine Line" by Heather Rankin: released in Canada on April 1st 2016 through Maple / Universal Music. Also Played guitars on 2 tracks.
Received a nomination for Canada's 'JUNO' Awards for his co writing on the album 'A Fine Line' by HEATHER RANKIN.
His song RESET was featured in the international film 'LEMON TREE PASSAGE' and is also available for purchase on Bandcamp.

I was planning my wedding from Australia struggling to find an acoustic singer in Koh Samui that I thought would fit our personalities and wedding style. Then I found Oliver. His song list is extensive and has something for everyone rather than only the usual traditional wedding songs. We were able to pick songs by Bruce Springsteen, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Bob Marley and Phil Collins...just to name a few. Finding Oliver was the best thing I could have done as he set the mood for our reception and created the perfect chilled out atmosphere we were hoping for. I have had multiple comments from guests praising his talents and commenting on how great the music was. I could see people singing out the lyrics and having a great time which was incredible.

“My wife-to-be and I picked Oliver Jones to play at our wedding on Koh Samui after doing extensive research in Australia on the internet. From the outset, Oliver was quick to answer any questions we had and reassured us that all would be ok for our big day. I even asked Oliver if he could learn and play a particular song as my bride walked down the aisle. When I heard his guitar strike up and him sing the song, as per our request as my bride walked towards me is a moment I will never forget. It was simply breathtaking.
Oliver then went on to perform a solo acoustic set during sunset drinks. His song choices and ability had all our guests in awe. He totally read the audience and I lost count of how many people told me how brilliant he was.
In the evening we opted for Oliver and his band, “The Bom” to perform for the evening session. We only had 21 guests and wondered if a band would work for such a small audience….. How we didn’t need to worry! From the first dance they had us all dancing and for a man who “doesn't dance” (AKA me), I didn’t leave the dance floor….. once!!!!!

Oliver Jones and The Bom were outstanding! They made our wedding day so special on so many levels, from the background music to the beautifully sang isle music performed by Oliver acoustically, which he had learnt specifically for us at short notice and then the awesome set that they performed in the evening! We cannot recommend Oliver Jones & THE BOM highly enough. We cannot recommend Oliver highly enough, he really helped to make our wedding day special - his acoustic performance was the perfect soundtrack to our ceremony, and his performance during the cocktail reception set the ideal atmosphere, (with all of our guests commenting on how great he was).
Communication with Oliver from our initial enquiry onwards was fantastic (the only problem we had, was trying choose our favourites from all the fantastic songs on Oliver’s huge playlist!)
We also had the great pleasure of hearing Oliver perform again before we left Koh Samui, when we went for dinner at Dr Frogs - specifically to hear him play (he was just as great, and hearing him perform some of our favourites again brought back memories of the wedding and was a great end to our holiday) .

Oliver was fantastic performing at our wedding. He sang before the ceremony and during the cocktails and everybody commented on how great he was – he was even able to learn a new song for my wife to walk down the aisle to AND make a last minute addition to the ceremony itself!!
We found him really friendly and professional, and easy to speak to whether it was via email, phone or in person.

We were looking for a musician or band last year, for our wedding at Koh Samui, because we knew we were going to marry at this beautiful Island . So we were fortunate with having Oliver play during a diner at Dr Frogs. I said to my girlfriend: I really want him to play at our wedding .
She said the same. When looking at his site i found out, he was also playing in a 4 piece band. The BOM. So we decided to book the band for our wedding party.
During our wedding, they were early, with setting everything up and doing their soundcheck.
But after a short but heavy rain (2 min) after our ceremony, the hotel would like to have us dinner inside the hotel. Our dinner and party should be at the lawn, so the band could start playing, while we were eating. The stage was setup at the lawn, so the party had to be outside.
No worries Oliver said;'' I'll grab my guitar and play you guys an accoustic session inside, while you are having dinner''. Perfect we said and lets hope weather will be ok for the party outside after dinner.
It was perfect , not only for us, but all of our guests loved the session. So after dinner, we went outside. And we were glad to see the weather was perfect for a party. The bar was setup and The Bom started playing. Immediatly our guests went to the dance floor. The whole evening was amazing, not only for me and my wife, but we saw everybody enjoying, including the band.
We will never forget this special day.

Oliver was an absolute class act from start to finish. We’d done plenty of research before booking Oliver as the entertainment for the day & evening time , when we renewed our wedding vows after 25 years at The White House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach.
Every single guest complimented at how much of an outstanding guitarist and vocalist Oliver was. His song list is vast and he does every song more than justice.
The communication via calls and emails was also excellent, so much so, even when I had to spend some time in hospital, just before the big day, Oliver came to visit to finalise arrangements and song choices.
Finally, you might find a cheaper artists on Koh Samui, but I promise, you will not find a better one!

We hired Oliver to play at our wedding on the 12th April 2018 over welcome drinks and part of dinner. Oliver was recommended by our wedding planner and we hadn’t seen him live before. Oliver Jones is a fantastic musician! We decided to book Oliver to play at our wedding and we are so glad that we did. We loved the variety of songs he played, and of course the exceptional quality of his performance. My Dad was particularly pleased as Oliver allowed him to indulge in a bit of blues on the harmonica too. Many of our guests are very good musicians so selecting the right entertainment was important to us.
